Library thanks town for support

Newburgh Free Library Executive Mary Lou Carolan expressed gratitude to the greater Newburgh community and other supporters for their support of the town branch over the past decade at the Newburgh Mall. The town branch was set to close its location by the end of the year 2022.

“We will now look to options the future holds that we may never have been able to imagine before,” Carolan said. “We also want to extend a special invitation. The library will be convening a group of interested staff and citizens to help us explore, innovate and create what a new town branch looks like. We are inviting the community to join in the dialogue.”

Several in-person brainstorming sessions and Zoom town halls are to be conducted to hear the thoughts and to receive feedback from the public according to Carolan. Carolan encouraged the public to call the library administration at 845-563-3605 to be added to the invitation list.

The meetings are scheduled to be held in January and February.
