Hello New Windsor. The New Windsor Police Department does such an amazing job protecting the Town and all of our residents and visitors and the men and women who make up the department are the best of the best and truly take pride in what they do on a daily basis.

We are also very blessed to have two Police K9 dogs who are a big part of the department and also work so hard keeping us all safe. The New Windsor Police Department’s K9 Duke has received a donation of body armor. The body armor which is a bullet and stab protective vest is a charitable donation from the non-profit organization Vested Interest In K9’s Inc. Duke’s vest was sponsored by Lori Hand of Wappingers Falls and has the value of $1,800. Since the charity’s inception it has provided over 5,000 vests to K9’s in all 50 states at a value of nearly 7 million dollars.

Thank you to Vested Interest In K9’s Inc. and to Lori Hand for your generous donation to protect Duke!

In 2023 the New Windsor Emergency Medical Services answered 5,179 calls for service, which was a 30% increase from 2022. The average response time was 6.23 minutes. Congratulations to all of the staff and volunteers who do an amazing job keeping New Windsor safe!

The New Windsor Fire Department and the Vails Gate Fire Department are both looking for volunteers. Do you have what it takes to be a part of these two great organizations?

For more information reach out to the New Windsor Fire Department by visiting their website at newwindsorfd.com or the Vails Gate Fire Department at vailsgatefd.com.
