The town of Lloyd celebrated its 20th “Easter in the Hamlet” event on Saturday.

The event is held in the town field, where eggs are placed two hours before. In previous years the Towns workers would stuff the eggs themselves, but now they have the eggs pre-stuffed before the event.

In the baskets were certificates that kids could cash out to get Easter baskets. There was also a bonnet-making competition where Rana and Lara Topaloglu, ages three and nine, were the competition winners.

The bonnet contest winners received egg decoration kits and chalk. Winners also received a complimentary haircut from Hair Craft hair salon on Main Street in Highland and one month of free dance classes at the Gina Marie’z dance studio on Commercial Avenue in Highland. The hair salon and the dance studio frequently support the Highland Events committee.

Local businesses helped donate items for the children’s baskets. The baskets were filled with Peeps bubbles, chocolate bunnies, egg decorating kits, peeps candy, and Easter-styled stuffed animals.
