The fire call came in at 8:46 p.m. on January 17th of a house fire at 26 Gabriety Road in Highland.

Highland Fire Chief Peter Miller said it took “probably less than 10 minutes to knock it down and there were no injuries.”

Miller said the origin of the fire is listed as ‘undetermined’.

“I don’t know if they will continue an investigation on the scene, probably not because they gave it up, but they are probably waiting for the insurance company to come back with what their determination is,” he said.

Miller said the Milton Fire Company responded to the scene with a tanker and New Paltz Rescue was there. The City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department was there with a Firefighter Assist and Search Team [FAST] and the Ulster County Cause and Origin Team also responded.
