Doris June Fields (nee Ovink) passed away in Newburgh, NY on October 22, 2022, peacefully in her sleep. She was 86 years old.
Doris June Ovink was born on April 30, 1936 in Michigan. She married Clarence Fields and they had five children, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Doris June was a homemaker who loved poetry, crocheting, ceramics and wood burning. She was a Distinguished Member of the International Society of Poets and was elected into The International Poetry Hall of Fame. She was well known among family and friends for her homemade apple pies a recipe she created with a secret ingredient.
Doris June was predeceased by her husband, Clarence, and two of her sons, Freddy and Daniel Fields, and her grandson, Kenneth Smith.
Doris June will be deeply missed by her children April Fields, Timothy Fields and James Fields as well as her grandchildren Kimberly Fields, Danielle LoPorto, Carly Fields, Colin Fields and Nicholas Fields. Her absence will be felt year-round, but especially during the holidays and family gatherings in Greenwood Lake, NY which will be bereft of her stories, jokes, and warm presence.
Services will be private, at the convenience of the family.
