Bedetti named NW Deputy Supervisor

The Town of New Windsor held their annually scheduled reorganizational meeting on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 to review and prepare for the upcoming year.

Town Supervisor George Meyers during the meeting appointed Councilman Stephen Bedetti as Deputy Supervisor and he will serve in this role from January 1, 2023 to June 30, 2023 with a set salary at $1,250.

Town Clerk Kelly Allegra was appointed as Registrar of Vital Statistics FOIL Officer for the year with Town Attorney David Zagon was appointed as the FOILs Appeal Officer for the year.

Jeanmarie Faraone was appointed as 1st Deputy Town Clerk and Kathy Fogarty was appointed as 2nd Deputy Town Clerk.

Nancy Wilkins was appointed as the Deputy Receiver of Taxes for the year 2023 with a set stipend of $,2500 annually. Police Chief Robert Doss was appointed as the Civil Defense Director for the year 2023. Glenn Marshall was appointed Town Historian. Highway Superintendent Anthony Fayo was appointed as the Supervisor of Refuse/Garbage with a set salary of $22,000 for the year 2023.

Marshall and Fogarty will also serve on the Records Advisory Board for the new year.

JP Morgan, Chase Bank, Manufacturers & Traders Trust Company, Orange County Bank & Trust Company Capital One Bank N.A. and the NYLAF (New York Liquid Asset Fund) were approved as the town’s depositories.

Attorney Dominic Cordisco. f Drake Loeb PLLC was reappointed as the attorney for the Planning Board and Genaro Argenio was reappointed as chairman of the Planning Board with his term ending December 31, 2027 with a set salary of $115 per meeting. Planning Board members were approved for a set salary at $80 a meeting. Gregory Biasotti was appointed as the chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals at $115 per meeting. Salaries for the members of the zoning board will also be $80 per meeting. Salaries for the Chairman and Secretary of the Assessment Board of Review was set at $95 per meeting. The members of the Bureau of Fire Prevention include Stephen Sager Jr. of the Vails Gate Fire Department, Michael Saylor, Marvin Kent and Shawn McGrath of the Quassaick Fire Department, Jeff Garfinkel of Salisbury Mills Fire Department and Jennifer Gallagher of the town’s building department. MHE Engineering will remain as the engineering firm for the town. The town board approved for the emergency medical services from January 2023 to December 31, 2025 to execute dispatching service to New Windsor and the Town of Cornwall and Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson. The Mid-Hudson Times was appointed as the official newspaper.

Meyers was appointed as the Liaison Officer for the town’s ambulance and police, Councilman Steven Moreau was appointed as the Liaison Officer for the highway department, planning/zoning boards, Bedetti was appointed as the Liaison Officer for the sewer and water department, Councilwoman Eve Lincoln was appointed as the Liaison Officer for the Justice Court and Recreation Department and Councilwoman Sylvia Santiago was appointed as Liaison Officer for Senior Citizens and Newburgh School District.
