Let the Marlboro Library help with your New Year resolution to research your family history and town roots! The Library has past and present yearbooks, maps and directories, thousands of historical photographs, postcards, church records, cemetery & bible records, obituaries, historical newspapers and much more.
The Library welcomes donations of local history items to add to the collection.
Donations received this year include a shadow box featuring Valley View Farm artifacts, curated by H. Velie and donated by his family; a series of drawings of the construction of the original Marlboro Bank, by Neil Eckerson, donated by Dennis McCourt; and an original Mark Miller (former owner of Benmarl Winery) landscape lithograph of the winery, donated by his son, Eric Miller. The Library is grateful to all who have made contributions to the collection this past year, enriching the community and shared history.
Whether you had family who lived in Marlborough or not, you can begin your family tree research at the Library by accessing ancestrylibrary.com in the Library, attending a Getting Started with Genealogy presentation, or by making a one-on-one genealogy appointment with staff member, Ashley. Tips for getting started in family tree research include placing old documents and newspaper articles in archival sleeve protectors, organizing family photos in photo albums, and by documenting family histories and family trees into legible, accessible formats for future generations.

Plattekill Public Library presents Bilingual Storytime & Yoga Event
Plattekill Public Library invites the community to a special Bilingual Storytime & Yoga event on Saturday, January 27, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. This engaging and educational session will be led by certified family yoga instructor Saira Ayala.
Children of all ages are welcome to join this unique experience designed to foster language-learning skills through a blend of storytelling, music, and yoga. Saira Ayala, with her expertise in family yoga instruction, will guide participants through a fun and interactive session that combines the joy of stories with the benefits of yoga.
