VFW to host Friday Nite Oldies
Maybrook VFW is excited to announce their upcoming event, “Friday Nite Oldies and Pizza” on March 24, from 7 - 11 p.m. The event will feature DJ Karl Heller, who will be spinning classic oldies music all night long, along with delicious pizza and a cash bar.

Guests can also participate in a 50/50 raffle for a chance to win big. Advance tickets are available for $10, while tickets at the door will be sold for $15. To purchase tickets, please call 845-427-5881.

The event will take place at Maybrook VFW located at 209 Main Street, Maybrook, NY. All are invited to come out and enjoy a fun-filled night of great music, food, and drinks.

Upcoming Events at Pine Bush Library Community Center

Pine Bush Library is excited to announce two upcoming events for community members looking to enhance their wellness and real estate knowledge.

On March 22 at 1:30 p.m., local real estate agent Michelle England will provide a workshop on How to Buy or Sell Your House. Michelle will provide insider tips on how to navigate the real estate market as a buyer or seller. These tips may just save or make you money! This event is also free, but registration is required. On March 23 at 1 p.m., join Sue Wiand for a Meditation for Fiscal Health and Wellness workshop. Meditation can be done in many different ways and on various levels. Sue will guide participants on how to lower stress, blood pressure and promote general wellness. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own ways to meditate and share them with the group. This event is free, but registration is required. Please call 845-744-4265 ext. 2 to reserve your spot.

Both events will be held at Pine Bush Library Community Center located at 227 Maple Avenue, Pine Bush, NY 12566.


WVAC offers free CPR Training and Certification
The Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps is pleased to announce its upcoming Save-a-Life Saturday event, offering free CPR training and certification to the community. This event will take place on Saturday, March 25, from 1 - 4 p.m. at 231 First Street, Wallkill.

The three-hour training session will cover various topics, including recognizing a medical emergency, hands-only CPR, and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Attendees will have the opportunity to practice these techniques in a hands-on environment and will receive American Safety & Health Institute CPR/AED certification upon completion.

Space is limited to only seven people, so interested participants are encouraged to register as soon as possible by emailing WALLKILL76EDUCATION@GMAIL.COM. Participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Gardiner Library presents A Way of Seeing: Photographs by Paul Bracey

Gardiner Library presents “A Way of Seeing: Photographs by Paul Bracey” Artist Talk on Saturday, March 25 at 12:30 p.m. Paul Bracey is a photographer from northeast Pennsylvania who began taking pictures as an offshoot of his interest in drawing and painting.

An avid outdoor adventurer, he has long pursued rock climbing, ice climbing and mountaineering, traveling to many destinations which have provided amazing opportunities for interesting and expressive photographic images.

His goal is to share the beauty of nature and art through engaging images, real or imagined, in the hope of showing viewers a new way of seeing things.
The library is located at 133 Farmer’s Turnpike in Gardiner.


Wallkill Woman’s Club notes
The Wallkill Woman’s Club will have its March meeting on Tuesday March 28 at 7 p.m. at the Borden Mansion,  846 Borden Circle. This month’s program will be Game Night. New members and visitors are always welcome.

Save the Dates: The Woman’s Club will be participating in the VOW Town Wide Yard Sale on Saturday, April 29. We will be set up at the Lions Pavilion so please plan to stop by, we will have many interesting and useful items for sale.

On Friday May 5 from 4 - 10 p.m. please join us for our fund raiser at Newburgh Brewing Company. There will be live music by Steve Black. Please visit: newburghbrewing.com to make your reservation. The Woman’s Club will receive 10% of all sales which will go towards scholarships and other town programs.

VFW hosts a tea party

Put on a “mad” hat and come to the Maybrook VFW for tea on Sunday, March 26.

The VFW presents a Mad Hatters Tea Party, starting at 1 p.m. Admission is $10 per person and included tea (or coffee), finger sandwiches and dessert. You’ll have a chance to make a Mad Hatter Hat. Prizes will be awarded for the best hat. There’s also a mini tricky tray and a 50-50.

All proceeds will benefit homeless veterans, the special project of the state VFW organization.
