Teresa “Tessie” Feminella

Teresa “Tessie” Feminella, age 102, of Modena, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Hudson Valley Rehab. & Extended Care Center of Highland.

Born December 23, 1916 in Brooklyn New York, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Maria (Graziano) Ocello.

She married Thomas Feminella Sr. on March 1, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York. They had more than 40 years together, until his untimely death on September 15, 1977.
Tessie was a talented seamstress who worked for Foremost Foundations in the Garment District in New York City for 62 years until her retirement in 1985.
In addition to her parents and husband, Tessie was predeceased by her three brothers, Salvatore, Benjamin and Phillip Ocello, and her son, Thomas Ferminella, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Angela Ogno of Modena; her grandchildren, Patricia Ogno of Kingston, NY, Frank Ogno III of Modena, and Karen Hagerman of North Merrick Queens; five great-grandchildren, Maria Turcotte of Brooklyn, NY, Christopher Hagerman of North Merrick Queens, Gianna Ogno of Gardiner, NY, Tara Hagerman of North Merrick Queens, and Joshua Dingman of Rosendale, NY.
A Funeral Mass was held at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 2212 US 44, Gardiner, NY, 12525, on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Matthew Yatkauskas officiating.

The Rite of Committal was at St. John’s Cemetery, Middle Village, Queens, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Tessie’s name be made to either the Gardiner Fire Department, P.O. Box 271, Gardiner, NY 12525 or to the Modena Fire Department, P.O. Box 73, Modena, NY 12548.
