The Town of Marlborough Recreation Committee is accepting entries for its 2026 Summer Concert in the Park T-Shirt Design Contest.
Organizers are seeking an original design that celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States while capturing the spirit of the community’s summer concert series.
Submissions will be accepted from June 1 through June 20. The winning design will be featured on the official 2026 Summer Concert in the Park T-shirt.
Knights of Columbus blood drive
The Knights of Columbus Father Hanley Council 7266, in partnership with the New York Blood Center, will host a blood drive Sunday, June 21, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the parish hall.
Appointments may be made by calling 800-933-2566 or by using the event QR code. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Organizers encourage community members to donate as blood supplies remain low. Donors will receive a complimentary breakfast prepared by the Knights of Columbus and a box of Girl Scout cookies courtesy of the New York Blood Center.

Student Earns National Technical Honor Society Induction
Congratulations to Marlboro High School junior Aliana Dubose on her induction into the Orange-Ulster BOCES National Technical Honor Society on June 3.
Dubose is enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program at the Orange-Ulster Career & Technical Academy and earned the recognition through her academic achievement, dedication and hard work while representing Marlboro High School.
Elementary Students enjoy Field Day
Second- and third-grade students at Marlboro Elementary School kicked off Field Day on June 2 with a variety of games highlighting speed, skill and sportsmanship.
School officials thanked the volunteers who helped make the event possible and said they look forward to additional Field Day activities throughout the week.
Spanish Club visits local Tortilleria
Members of the Marlboro Middle School Spanish Club took learning beyond the classroom June 3 with a visit to Tortilleria Allison in Poughkeepsie.
Students watched a hands-on demonstration of traditional tortilla-making techniques used in Mexico and sampled authentic tacos prepared with freshly made tortillas.
School officials thanked the staff at Tortilleria Allison for providing the educational experience.
Scholar-Athletes Honored
Marlboro High School seniors Marlie Lanzoni and Matthew Bogaczyk have been named the 2025-26 Mid-Hudson Athletic League Senior Scholar-Athletes for the Marlboro Central School District.
The students were recognized during an awards breakfast May 28 at the Wiltwyck Golf Club in Kingston. The event featured keynote speaker Todd Diorio, a Marlboro High School graduate.
Congratulations to both students on their outstanding achievement.
St. Mary’s Church News
Father Tom will be on vacation from June 7-21. Father Ed Straub will celebrate Masses and provide coverage during his absence.
The rectory will be closed June 19 in observance of Juneteenth.
For the month of June, rectory office hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. Summer office hours for July and August will be 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Thursday.

Weekly Recipe
Mexican Street Corn

3 ears fresh sweet corn
1 tbsp melted butter
1/4 cup of mayonnaise
2 lime juices and zested.
1 cup crumbled feta cheese
1/4 cup light cream
1/2 up crispy fried shallots
2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro.
2 tsp chili flakes
Salt and black pepper to taste
Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
Brush corn with melted butter and season lightly with salt and pepper.
Grill corn for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally until lightly charred on all sides. While the corn cooks, add cream and feta cheese to a small saucepan over low heat.
Whisk continuously until the feta becomes creamy and smooth.
Remove corn from the grill. Brush each corn cob with mayonnaise.
Spoon the warm feta cream sauce generously over each cob.
Sprinkle with chili flakes, cilantro, lime zest, and crispy fried shallots.
Squeeze fresh lime juice over the top.
Serve immediately while warm.
