I watched Pete Hegseth outline the planned execution of Major Nidal Malik Hasan for the murder of 13 and injury of 32 at Fort Hood Army Base on November 5, 2009. I am dismayed at the depths to which our nation fallen. I am not defending Major Hasan or the death penalty. I am challenging the way Mr. Hegseth, a reported Christian, is seizing the attention of the nation with such a barbarous plan.
This Secretary of Defense who misquotes the Bible using phrases from Pulp Fiction is sick. CNN is reporting Mr. Trump “welcomed the idea of a firing squad execution”.
What a sad day for our nation.
