The Ladies Auxiliary to Marlboro Hose Company No. 1 is preparing for its “Almost Summer” Outdoor Vendor Market, set for May 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kedem Winery in Marlboro. Vendors are invited to participate; for more information, contact Pati at 914-424-3064 or Tara at 845-236-3651.

A memorial tribute honoring the late Assemblyman Frank Skartados will take place May 3 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Marlborough Community Center. Community members are invited to gather in remembrance of his public service and contributions, including his efforts to secure grants for town buildings, libraries and services. The program will include the dedication of a tribute stone and portrait, followed by light refreshments and an opportunity to share personal reflections. At Marlboro High School, members of Student Voice recently met with district staff April 15 to discuss potential changes to cafeteria offerings. Following the meeting, students sampled menu items provided by local vendor Stephanie Lawler of Foster Farms, offering feedback and completing response sheets collected by Principal Ryan Lawler. Another tasting session with a different vendor is planned.

Marlboro Elementary School launched its Kids Heart Challenge on April 10 with a presentation focused on heart health and awareness.

Students viewed videos featuring individuals with heart conditions and learned the importance of Hands-Only CPR, with a goal of encouraging all families to learn the lifesaving technique. The initiative promotes healthy habits while supporting heart health awareness.

The elementary school is also recognizing positive behavior through its “Class of the Month” program. Principal Jena Thomas and Vice Principal Sarah Amodeo recently joined JoAnne Barletta and Victoria Palmatier’s class for extra recess after the class earned the distinction.

Students track behavior throughout the month, earning rewards such as pizza with the principals, extra recess and other incentives.

The Town of Marlborough Conservation Advisory Committee will host a nature walk at the Falco Trail on Route 9W on April 25 from 11 a.m. to noon in celebration of Earth Day. All are welcome.

The Marlboro Free Library Book Club will meet April 29 at 7 p.m. in the conference room at the Marlborough Community Center. The group will discuss “China Dolls” by Lisa See. Copies are available at the circulation desk.

At St. Mary’s Church, Father Hanley Council 7266 meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the parish hall. Those interested in joining may contact Joe Lopiccolo at 917-657-8045.
