Regina C. Fortunato passed away on September 13, 2026. She was born on February 17, 1949 to John and Frances (Olshefski) Tessitore.
Regina is survived by her loving husband, of 57 years, Louis P. Fortunato. She is also survived by her two children; son Louis P. Fortunato Jr., his wife Katherine, and her daughter Theresa D. Fortunato, her grandchildren; Peter A. Fortunato and Anna K. Fortunato, her brother; Joseph Tessitore and wife Christine, her sister-in-law; Rosalie A. Romano, and many nieces and nephews.
Regina was born on the upper east side of Manhattan. In 1955 her family moved to the Bronx, where she would attend grammar school and later high school. In 1967 she and Lou became engaged. They married on March 30, 1969. In 1971 they purchased a home in the town of Newburgh. Regina received her B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Mount Saint Mary College. During her professional career she focused on the accounting and finance areas. Following her retirement Regina and Lou purchased a studio apartment in Manhattan enjoying many fun weekends. Together they took in the sites, Broadway shows, museums and everything else the city had to offer.
A memorial service was held on Monday September 21st from 4pm to 7pm at The DiDonato Funeral Home 1290 Route 9W Marlboro NY 12542
A Prayer service was offered at 6:30pm during the memorial service by Deacon Vincent Porcelli.
Entombment was held Tuesday September 22nd at 11am at the Cedar Hill Cemetery Mausoleum 5468 Route 9W Newburgh NY 12550.
