I am proud to support Laura Donovan for re-election to the Ulster County Legislature representing Marlborough. Laura has demonstrated a genuine commitment to our town and its residents. She leads with integrity, advocates for the community, respects differing opinions, and puts people before politics.
My father, Michael J. Canosa, served as Marlborough Town Supervisor for 21 years and was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He deeply valued public service and understood the sacrifices made by our military families. I know he would be proud of Laura. Her first sponsored law, which passed the Legislature, provides the maximum county-level property tax exemption for active-duty military personnel serving in combat zones. She also co-sponsored legislation providing property tax exemptions for permanently and totally disabled veterans. These actions reflect her commitment to those who serve our country.
As a fiduciary and small business owner, Laura brings a strong sense of responsibility and accountability to her role. She has the courage to stand by her convictions while remaining willing to listen to constituents.
Marlborough deserves leadership that welcomes public input, values different perspectives, and puts residents first. I encourage my fellow residents to join me in supporting Laura Donovan for re-election
