Public comment - Not in Montgomery

The first act as Mayor, Mayor Hembury, abolished PUBLIC COMMENT on April 2. I am not aware of any village or town in Orange County that does not allow PUBLIC COMMENT. What a guy, a firm supporter and believer of our CONSTITUTION’S FIRST ADMENDMENT, I believe NOT.

Why would a newly elected Mayor do such a thing? Mayor Brescia for 30+ years withstood and answered questions by the public.

It is my opinion that Mayor Hembury does not have the strength or capability to answer residents truthfully and professionally. The same meeting he spoke on not supporting improvements to our senior center in which the village received a $185,000 grant. This is after a group of seniors lobbied Orange County for years to secure this grant. Not once in those years, as a Trustee, did Hembury not support the efforts of Walt Lindner and others to improve our senior center.

Hembury will be a disaster as Mayor of Montgomery. Residents will pay for his ineptness on fiscal matters and the everyday running of our village.
