Muriel V. Obermeyer (Micki), entered into rest on June 14, 2026 at home surrounded by her family. She was 80 years old. A life-long resident of Plattekill, N.Y., retired to Lady Lake, F.L. 13 years ago.
Micki is the daughter of the late Arthur H. Fosler and Muriel V. Silberling Fosler (Ginny), she was born on December 10, 1945 in Cornwall, N. Y.
Micki is survived by her loving husband of 52 years: Michael Obermeyer of Lady Lake, F. L., daughters: April Colombo (Mike) of Sebastian, F.L. & Susan Schmeiser (Dave) of Summerfield, F.L.; son: Michael J. Obermeyer (Amanda) of Plattekill, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren: Rachael Colombo (David) of Highland, N.Y.; Dustin Colombo of Daytona Beach, F.L.; Andrew & Eric Schmeiser of Summerfield, F.L.; Michael, Thomas & Violet Obermeyer of Plattekill, N.Y.
In addition, she is survived by her sister: Janet Twamley of Plattekill, N.Y.; her brother Arthur Fosler (Stacie) of Plattekill, N.Y.; several sisters & brothers-in-law and many nieces & nephews.
Micki is a graduate of Wallkill High School and held a New York State cosmetologist license. Proudly she served as the Town of Plattekill Historian for 22 years. She also held positions on both the Town of Plattekill Planning Board and Zoning Board. She also volunteered for many years as a Girl Scout Leader. Micki had a passion for antiquing, yard sales and flea markets. She also had a special love of collecting cat figurines.
At Micki’s request, there will be no services following her cremation.
