Michael Ennis, 73, of New Paltz, New York passed away unexpectedly on Sunday September 18, 2022, in Tampa, Florida.

Born February 10, 1949, in New York City, New York he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Irene M. (Bermel) Ennis.

On May 21, 1972, at St. Boniface Church in Elmont, New York Michael married the love of his life, Mary Ann Stark. They had over 50 happy years together before her death in March of this year.

Mike was a lifelong Yankee and Giants fan, but he loved all things sports. He was a history buff and enjoyed conversations about politics and business. He held several jobs in the pharmaceutical industry which allowed his family to move between New York, Georgia and Florida. One of Mike’s favorite things to do, other than watch sports, was to listen to music. His favorite bands were Boston, Rolling Stones, Beatles and many more. In his last months after his wife’s passing, he spent in Florida with his daughter, Corinne Conte, son-in-law Jason Conte and his two grandsons Dillan and Jackson, where he was surrounded by love and support managing his illness with grace and courage.

Survivors include his daughters, Danielle Turer of Tampa, FL, Corinne A. Conte of Tampa, FL, and Kyla Forsyth of Lutz, FL and their spouses; his grandchildren, Jake, Dillan, Brody, Jackson, Dean, and Ryan; his sister in-law, Kathy Moss of Rockville, Centre, NY.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mary Ann, Michael was also predeceased by his son, Kevin Ennis. Friends may call on Saturday, October 8, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Copeland-Hammerl Funeral Home, 162 S. Putt Corners Road, New Paltz.

A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Father Matthew Yatkauskas, will begin at 11:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Route 44/55, Gardiner, New York 12525.

The Rite of Christian Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery across the street.
