Spring is in the air, and with it comes a busy season of school pride, community gatherings, and opportunities to get involved across Marlboro.

School News and Events!
Looking ahead, kindergarten registration for the 2026–2027 school year is now open. Children must be five years old on or before Dec. 1, 2026, to be eligible. Registration is completed online through SchoolTool, and families can find additional information, including required documents, on the district website. For assistance, contact District Registrar Tabatha Seeland at (845) 236-8000, ext. 1305.

Marlboro High School’s Youth & Government Club recently traveled to Albany to participate in the YMCA Youth & Government Conference, where students debated legislation inside the New York State Assembly Chamber. The experience gave students a chance to tackle real-world policy issues, sharpen their critical thinking skills, and collaborate with peers from across the state. Their proposed bills addressed topics ranging from managing spotted lanternflies to supporting EMS workers’ mental health.

Special recognition goes to Isabella Magyar, who earned an Outstanding Delegate award; Amelia Kovaci, who ran for Speaker of Assembly Freedom; and Pietro LoPresti, who was nominated to attend the national Committee on National Affairs conference. Congratulations to all for representing Marlboro with distinction.

The district’s Music Department wrapped up Music in Our Schools Month with its annual Pops Concert on March 24, inspired by “For Good” from Wicked. The evening featured a wide range of performances, from elementary to high school ensembles, along with appearances by faculty and staff. Thanks go out to Samuel Forrester, Eric Braunstein, Dr. Stephanie Hu-Corbett, and the Marlboro Dukes Music Boosters for their continued support of music education.

On March 22, the Marlboro wrestling community celebrated a milestone with its first home youth tournament. The event showcased not only athletic talent but also the strong mentorship provided by older student-athletes. The growing program continues to build leadership, accountability, and a sense of unity across all levels.

Marlboro Middle School staff and faculty also showed their spirit on March 20 in recognition of Rosie the Riveter Day, honoring the women of World War II whose contributions helped shape future generations.
Marlboro Free Library

The Marlboro Free Library will host a special author event on Thursday, April 16, at 6 p.m. at the Milton Train Station. Local author Anthony Musso will discuss his latest book, Mafia Burial Ground: The Mob and St. John’s Cemetery, offering a fascinating look at the historic Queens cemetery and its connections to notable organized crime figures. No registration is required, though residents are encouraged to RSVP online for updates.

St. Mary’s Church
St. Mary’s Church extends a warm welcome to all visitors and invites community members to participate in its liturgies. New parishioners are encouraged to register by contacting the rectory office.

Parishioners are also reminded that the church’s heating and cooling units are set at 70 degrees, and conditions may vary throughout the building. Attendees may wish to plan accordingly.

The Knights of Columbus Father Hanley Council #7266 is offering a $1,000 college scholarship to a graduating senior who is a member of St. Mary’s Parish and attends either St. Mary’s Church in Marlboro or Our Lady of Mercy Chapel in Roseton. Applications are available in the church vestibules, and completed submissions must be postmarked by April 14, 2026.
Reminders

The annual statewide burn ban is in effect from March 16 through May 14. Residents are reminded that residential brush burning is prohibited during this period.
