Marlboro Dukes seventh in state bowling

Emily Tarsio rolled a six-game series of 1,030, leading the Marlboro Dukes to a seventh-place finish at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association girls’ bowling championships on Friday at Strike ‘N Spare Lanes in Syracuse.

The Dukes finished with a total pin count of 4,468, 908 pins off the pace, set by Section 6’s Depew, who won the state championship with a total score of 5,376.
The Marlboro boys’ team finished ninth with a 5,431 total pin count. Section 6’s West Seneca East, who won the state title with 6,482 points.

Tarsio rolled a 203 high game and finished with a 171.67 series.

Paige Brooks and Steviemarie Amato were 22nd and 23rd respectively. Brooks finished with a 906 series and a 180 high game for a 151 average, and Amato had an 897 series and rolled a high game of 195 and finished with a 149.50 average. Olivia Cherubini was 25th with an 850 series, and a high game of 169. She finished with a 141.67 average. Chloe Decker was 33rd with a 785 high series, a 155 high game and a 130.83 average.

Carmen Youngs of Section 3’s West Canada Valley was the top bowler with a 1,260 series, a 220 high game and a 210 average.

For the boys, Marlboro’s Zach Moulds had a the fourth-highest score with a 268 high game. He finished 16th overall with a 1,229 series and an average of 204.83.

Jacob Racsumberger of Section 6’s West Seneca East, was the top male bowler with a six-game series of 1,366, a 246 high game and a 227.67 series.

Marlboro’s Pat Tarsio was 28th with a 203 high game, an 1,140 series and a 190 average. Ryan Tarsio was 32nd with a 1,056 series, a 193 high game, and had a 176 average. Carson Palmer was 34th with a 1,020 series and a 225 high game. He finished with a 170 average. Chris Moulds rolled a five-game series of 889, and finished with a 177.80 average, with a 193 high game.

Andrez Smith-Vazquez bowled the fourth game in Chris Moulds’ place and rolled a 97.
