Lloyd hires two full-time officers

Posted

In a brief meeting last Wednesday, the Lloyd Town Board approved the hiring of two new full-time police officers. Neither is a stranger to the Lloyd Police Department.

Troy McEwen and William Deis were each hired as full-time officers upon the recommendation of Chief James Janso. Each will receive an annual salary of $54,500. Both have recently graduated from the Ulster County Law Enforcement Academy.
Before either could be hired, however, they had to resign as part-time officers. The board approved their resignations only to hire them as full-time officers moments later.

The board also approved a resolution to hire Thomas Simpson as a recreation aide for Parks at $14.20 per hour.
