Jacobson demands CSX address situation at Milton Landing Park

Posted

Assemblymember Jonathan Jacobson (D-104) is demanding that CSX Railway address a dangerous situation in the Town of Marlborough, where stopped CSX trains are blocking egress into and out of the recently opened Milton Landing Park.

Jacobson said, “At any given time of night or day, CSX trains stop alongside Milton Landing Park to allow trains headed in the opposite direction to pass. Sometimes they stop for no apparent reason. These stops can last just a few minutes. Other times, they can last for hours.”

“Milton Landing Park occupies a strip of land between the railroad tracks and the Hudson River, so when trains are parked, all egress into and out of the park is blocked. Recently, stopped CSX trains have trapped visitors in the park, creating a dangerous situation,” Jacobson continued.

“What might happen if a park visitor suffers a medical emergency that requires immediate treatment? No EMS crew would be able to reach them to administer aid.”
