Irvan A. Boucher, age 85 of Woodland Pond at New Paltz, NY, passed away on May 1, 2026.

The son of Irvan A. Boucher II and Treva (Campbell) Boucher, he was born in Johnstown, PA and spent his childhood in Altoona, PA.

Irvan honorably and proudly served his country as a member of the US Air Force. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Irvan dedicated over thirty years to his career as an Industrial Arts Teacher and promoted all forms of design, planning and building. Irvan began his teaching career in the City of Newburgh at South Junior High School and retired from West Point Middle School, where he also taught Earth Science. Mr. Boucher was a strong teachers union advocate. He held many executive offices in the local, regional and national unions. He served on the negotiation committees for the local association to improve compensationand benefits for his profession.

Survivors include his children: Andrew (Natsumi) Boucher and Janelle “Nell” Boucher; granddaughter: Marina Zaczkiewicz; sisters-in-law: Stephanie Ewanich, Elizabeth “Liz” Ewanich and Nancy Boucher; nieces and nephew: Mary (John) Dulac, Katrice (Tom) Keane, Kelly Thompson, and Ryan (Meghan) Thompson. He was preceded in death by his brother James “Jim” Boucher and his beloved wife of 53 years, Anna Ewanich Boucher.

A Graveside Service and Inurnment with Military Honors will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23 rd at Cedar Hill Cemetery Mausoleum in Middle Hope, NY.
