It was a record-setting night for the Marlboro throwers.

Jose Iraola-Ceely set a new school record in the hammer throw, and Juliana Juras continued to expand her discus record on Friday night at the annual Iron Duke Relays at Marlboro High School.

Overall, Iraola-Ceely won three events, including a 180-7 throw in the hammer, which set a new school record. The previous record was held by the former record holder Marshall Mannese, who was on hand for the event. His hammer throw also qualified him for the championship division at the New Balance Invitational.

He also won the boys’ shot put with a throw of 44-6.25 and the discus with a throw of 133-4.

Juras continued to dominate the throwing events with a clean sweep. She broke her own record in the discus throw, reaching 134-7. It eclipses the record of 129-11 that she set the previous week at the New York Relays.

Marlboro throwing coach Tom Fassell said she has thrown even further in practice.

She also won the shot put with a throw of 34-5, and the hammer throw by reaching 101-9.

The throwers weren’t the only Marlboro athletes having success on Friday.

Drew Heimink won both the long jump and the pole vault. He reached 20-10.5 in the long jump and 11 feet in the pole vault. Sophomore vaulter Sean Robertson matched Heimink’s pole vault height.

Heimink was second in the triple jump.

The boys’ 400-meter relay team of Colin Robertson, Daniel Maher, Sean Robertson and Heimink won the event with a time of 45.32.

Colin Robertson finished second in the 100-meter dash with Daniel Maher right behind him with respective times of 11.26 and 11.58.

Fallon Grace was fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.72. Robert Jackson, III, was fifth in the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 11:15.44.

Daiven Leath had the top finish for the Highland Huskies, reaching 5-8 in the boys’ high jump. His teammate, Josh Bishop, took fifth with a matching jump of 5-8.

The Huskies’ 4x400-meter relay team of Alexander Papazov, Jamie Manning, Basil Metz and George Simmons finished third with a time of 3:48.22.
