End New York State’s sanctuary police

Posted

New York State’s sanctuary polices prevent our own law enforcement officials from cooperating with Federal agencies to safely remove criminal illegal migrants from our country. Our Department of Homeland Security has issued almost 15,000 detainers to New York law enforcement for migrants accused of a total of just under 48,000 felony charges.

Rather than a simple and safe handoff at New York jails, these policies release these criminals back into the law-abiding population putting American citizens in jeopardy. The results cause situations like this most recent where an illegal migrant, Oscar Belgal, from the Dominican Republic attempted to escape authorities with a 5-year-old child in his car. Belgal already had a pending detainer request for his alleged involvement in the shooting of a US Customs and Border Protection agent two years ago in Lincoln Heights.

Protect New York’s law-abiding citizens. Immediately end the State’s sanctuary polices.
