Clintondale man pleads guilty to promoting Sexual Performance of a Child

On Wednesday March 20, , Joseph O'Bryan, age 30, of Clintondale, pled guilty before Judge Bryan Rounds to Promoting a Sexual Performance of a Child less than 17 years of age. Defendant was initially indicted by an Ulster County grand jury for multiple counts of promoting and possessing child sexual abuse material. Defendant's indictment stemmed from his arrest on October 15, 2020 after the New York State Police executed a search warrant on his residence. Examination of his phone which was obtained for evidence revealed his possession of substantial amount of images and videos of child sexual abuse material. He shared some of the materials with other users.

The defendant will be sentenced on May 31, 2024. The case was prosecuted by Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Paul Derohannesian. The defendant was represented by Defense Attorney Raymond Ragues of Kingston.
