Clintondale Fire Department hosts annual dinner

The Clintondale Fire Department held its annual Installation Dinner at the Poughkeepsie Grand on March 16.

Chief Phil Sabarese welcomed everyone to the dinner and presented a number of awards to members of the company. The Years of Service Award went to Ray Poluzzi, “whose dedication and service have been the cornerstone of our department’s success...This award pays tribute to the remarkable commitment of one of our commissioners who has dedicated a significant portion of their life to the betterment of our community through their service in the Fire Department.”

Rick Brooks, who was unable to attend the dinner, was honored with the Past Chief Award for his years of service and dedication as Chief of the Clintondale Fire Department.

The President’s Award was presented to Mike Signorelli, “whose actions speak louder than words, whose tireless efforts uplift and inspire us all and for being a shining example of the best that our department has to offer. Your service is truly deserving of this prestigious honor and we are immensely grateful for all that you do.”

Kate Jonietz was honored for her Years of Service as Treasurer and Secretary for the Department.

“Her attention to detail has been instrumental in our ability to serve our community effectively,” Chief Sabarese said.

The department highlighted their Top Responders during the last year: Zach Adolphsen, Rick Brooks, Robin Lynk, Sherri Mackey, Jeremy Nash Gary Palmateer, Phil Sabarese, Meghan Shoureck and Mike Signorelli. It was said that these individuals, “have answered the call to duty with unwavering determination, putting their own safety on the line to protect and serve our community.”

Brandon Moore received the Most Training Award “and for his overwhelming assistance in training his fellow firefighters.”

The Chief’s Recognition Award went to Deanna Leon, “for her unwavering support, both firematically and in training. Her hard work and dedication has helped, not only the members, but also the citizens of the Clintondale Fire Department.”

The Firefighter of the Year Award was presented to Sherri Mackey by Mary Poluzzi.

As the evening wound down, dessert was served and DJ Tom Egan, of the Hudson Valley Event Group, brought up people to the dance floor.
