School news/events
Marlboro Middle School students celebrated Student Appreciation Day on November 21 by taking part in a variety of fun activities organized by administrators and staff. Students enjoyed minute-to-win games and Turkey Trials, which consisted of teams of students competing in a series of physical challenges. In the music room, the dukes rocked out to a live performance by Paper Jam, the school’s faculty band. After working up an appetite, the entire student body was treated to ice cream provided by Stewart’s Shops and served up by members of the PTA. A fun time was had by all!
Exciting news! Marlboro Elementary School Grade 2 student Giana Thomas was recently recognized for completing the 1,000 Book Project! Sponsored by the Marlboro Faculty Association, the 1,000 Book Project is a reading program that motivates children and caregivers to read 1,000 books together. To participate, children can visit the Marlboro Free Library or the Sarah Hull Hallock Free Library in Milton to begin borrowing pre-made bags of books, each of which contains ten books. Congratulations, Giana! What a wonderful accomplishment!
Thank you to everyone who attended the third annual Diversity Night, hosted by members of Marlboro High School’s Students Empowering Equality Club and their advisor, Aneisha Cunningham. Teachers, administrators, family members, and friends gathered in the High School cafeteria on November 16 to celebrate some of the diverse cultures that are represented in Marlboro. After enjoying poetry readings and a dance performance, guests were able to sample delicious cuisine from around the world. Everyone left with full stomachs, smiling faces, and a newfound appreciation for world cultures!
Kudos to our latest Students of the Month, who were recognized during a Board of Education meeting on November 16. They are Gianna Faricellia from Marlboro High School, Liam Jordan from Marlboro Middle School, and Noah Garcia-Omana from Marlboro Elementary School. Congratulations and keep up the great work!
