Highland rolls past Poughkeepsie, 40-0

Highland’s offense came alive Thursday, while its defense continued its dominant start to the season as the Huskies cruised past Poughkeepsie, 40-0.

Highland scored all 40 points before halftime, and the game was ended by agreement at the break. The Huskies led 14-0 after the first quarter before exploding for 26 points in the second.

Luke Wiese and AJ Nugent each scored two rushing touchdowns for Highland. Christian Christie added two touchdowns of his own, returning a punt for a score and catching a 27-yard touchdown pass from Maison Bragg.

The offensive outburst was a dramatic turnaround for Highland, which scored just seven points in its previous game.
