The Town of New Windsor Planning Board voted to set a public hearing and declared itself lead agency on Wednesday, February 22 for the proposed project known as Yeshiva Ketana Satmar KJ Site Plan And Special Use Permit, located at 148 Windsor Highway.

The proposed project, represented by Engineering & Surveying Properties, PC, is a campus extension that would include a two story building with a pool and bathhouse. According to town records, the two story building would be completed in two phases and would be a total 52,800 square feet. The mikveh, a traditional bathhouse, and the pool would be 2,000 square feet in size.

The Yeshiva Ketana Satmar school previously made an initial appearance before the The New Windsor Planning Board back in October for their expansion. The Yeshiva Ketana Satmar school operates out of the former St. Joseph’s School building, which was purchased back in 2021. Students from the Village of Kiryas Joel are bused to New Windsor and attend the school. According to MHE Engineering comments, the applicant has submitted a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan and will need to review their proposed parking spot calculations and other parking requirements with the added buildings.
