Wilfrido Castillo, Sr

Wilfrido Castillo, Sr., of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and former resident of Plattekill, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. He was 93.

Son of the late Rafael and Paula (Silva) Castillo, he was born on October 12, 1925 in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Willie was a retired plumber with Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local #373, Mountainville. A longtime resident of Plattekill, he was a past Chief of Police for the Town of Plattekill, a member of the Plattekill Fire Rescue #47, Hudson River Lodge #309 F&AM and a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Delia M. (Moro) Castillo at home; two sons, Wilfrido Castillo, Jr. and his wife Catherine of Wallkill, and Albert Castillo of KY; a daughter, Delia J. Maat of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; three grandchildren, Wilfrido, III, Michelle, Michael; two great grandchildren Victoria and Harley; and beloved pet Nina.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by six siblings.

Private cremation has taken place.

Memorial Visitation will take place at White, Venuto and Morrill FCS, 188 N. Plank Rd., Newburgh, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019, with a Service at 12 p.m.

Burial will follow at Modena Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Willie’s memory can be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of White, Venuto and Morrill FCS.
