A bronze statue of Gen. George Washington has returned to the Tower of Victory at Washington’s Headquarters State Historic Site in Newburgh after undergoing restoration.
Created by artist William O’Donovan in 1887, the statue was removed from the tower in 2019 for restoration.
Access to the tower remains limited depending on weather and staffing, but visitors can view the restored statue during visits to Washington’s Headquarters, Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.
