The Grand Montgomery Chamber Music Series is pleased to present the Han-Baik Kim Duo on Sunday, March 12, at 3 p.m. at the Garrett Concert Stage in Montgomery. The concert is free to attend and will feature an exceptional program of classical music.
The duo comprises the versatile Korean American violinist/violist Ye-jin Han and the accomplished pianist Eun Ae Baik-Kim. They will perform Faure’s Sonata No.1, Op.13 for Violin and Piano, Wieniawski’s Polonaise Brillante, Op.21, and Franck’s Sonata for Violin and Piano in A Major.
Ye-jin Han, a former concertmaster of the Bergen Symphony Orchestra, is widely praised for her “pure, expressive tone” and “effortless playing.” She is a prize winner at many competitions, including the Citta di Brescia International Violin Competition in Italy, Five Towns Music and Arts Foundation Young Musician Competition and Lilian Fuchs Memorial Chamber Music Competition in New York. Dr. Han holds a DMA from Stony Brook University and has developed a “Holistic approach to playing the violin” for avid violinists who are interested in mastering their violin with ease and joy.
Eun Ae Baik-Kim, an accomplished pianist and composer, has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician in South America and the USA. She is a winner of numerous competitions and received a “Diploma de Honra” for distinguished artist by Conservatório Carlos Gomes. Dr. Baik-Kim is currently a faculty member of Dickinson College and served as a lecturer at Bucknell University.
