Newburgh’s Gage Szymanowicz rolled a 1,206 high series to finish 36th, leading Section 9 to a 10th place finish at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association boys’ composite bowling championships on Saturday at Strike ‘N Spare Lanes in Syracuse.
Section 9 scored 5,907 total pins, 894 off Section 11, which won the state championship with a pin count of 6,801.
Szymanowicz rolled a 233 high game to start his six-game set and finished with an average of 201. Jordan DeWitt to finished 65th. rolled a 1,041 six-game series with a 189 high game. He finished with a 173.50 series.
Katie Bell finished 54th in the girls’ composite event with a six-game series of 980, as Section 9 finished 10th with a score of 5,091. Section 6 won the event with a score of 6,378.
