On Friday, November 4th at approximately 5 pm, Town of Newburgh police responded to the Bank of America, located 1414 Route 300 in the Town of Newburgh. Officers were responding to an attempted Bank Robbery, which was confirmed upon arrival.

Police officers learned the suspect had threatened a gun and then fled the scene. The suspect was described as a white male wearing a grey coat, beige pants, beige baseball cap, and a blue surgical mask. Through interviews and gathering information, police were able to identify a possible suspect.

On November 4th at approximately  10:45pm, police arrested Basil Martusevich, age 56 of the Town of Newburgh.

Martusevich was charged with one count attempted Robbery 1st, arraigned and remanded to Orange County Jail, no bail. Along with the Town of Newburgh Police K-9 Unit,

Town of Newburgh Police were assisted by a NYSP K-9 Unit and the Hudson Valley Crime Analysis Center.
