Peter P. Mandia of Cary, NC, formerly of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY and Sarasota, FL, entered into eternal rest on September 21, 2026 in Raleigh, NC. He was 95 years old.
The son of the late Phillip Mandia and Charlotte (Fransen) Mandia, he was born on April 13, 1931 in Flushing, NY.
Peter was employed by Central Hudson Gas & Electric Company in NY. After retiring he and his wife, Gerry, moved to Sarasota, FL and subsequently to Cary, NC.
He honorably and proudly served his country as a PFC in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean War Conflict.
Peter was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Geraldine M. (Prizzia) Mandia. He was also predeceased by his sister, Gerry (Mandia) Loehlein and brother, William Mandia.
He is survived by his daughters Charlene Mandia of NC and Maryann Mandia of VT, grandson Stephen E. Montanez and his wife, Anna, great-grandchildren, Caiden and Madison of VT.
Peter and Gerry loved to travel and had many wonderful adventures together traveling the world. He enjoyed gardening, building model ships, reading, and family vacations to the beach.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled this Fall in VT.
