City of Newburgh Police have arrested Eric McCollum, a 28-year-old Newburgh resident, in connection with the recent homicide that occurred near the 411 Lounge on Broadway within the City of Newburgh on May 28. McCollum was charged with Murder 2nd and was held pending an arraignment in City of Newburgh Court.
Police received a call at approximately 2:00AM on May 28, 2023 for a report of an unconscious male in the area of 405 Broadway. Police located a 38 year-old male with a stab wound and began life saving measures. The male subject was transported to St Luke’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The City of Newburgh Detectives were assisted by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office during this investigation.
