John Sanowski, 93, a former Attorney for Allstate Insurance Co., entered into rest on Friday, April 3, 2020. The son of the late William and Ada (Biezup) Sanowski, he was born in Passaic, NJ.
John was a graduate of Seton Hall University and St. John's Law School. He proudly served our country with the US Marines from 1944-1946. John was a member of St. Patrick’s-St. Mary’s Church where he also served as Eucharistic Minister. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He always had a kind word to say and was willing to help others. He was a dedicated family man, he will be truly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife, Eileen M. Sanowski; children: Doreen Schreeck and husband Don, Patricia Schermerhorn, Eileen Bowman and husband John, and John B. Sanowski; grandchildren: Kathleen Wright, Thomas Schreeck, Christopher and Brian Schermerhorn, Michael, Peter, Mollie, Emily Bowman, and Julia, Justin and Jonathan Sanowski; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Due to the coronavirus occurrence services will be private, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in John’s memory may be sent to St. Patrick’s Soup Kitchen, 55 Grand St., Newburgh, NY 12550.
