Helen Pollock, of the Town of Newburgh, entered into rest on Monday, July 12, 2021. She was 96.

Daughter of the late John and Veronica (Grehart) Gregorec, she was born June 21, 1925 in Newburgh.

Helen a lifelong area resident was a retired Assembly worker for Star Expansion, Mountainville, NY. She was a member of Moulton Memorial Baptist Church for over 80 years, where she was involved with many church activities. Helen was a very loving, caring and compassionate woman with a great personality. She enjoyed vacations with her son Doug and his wife Ellen to Pennsylvania, Mystic CT and New Hampshire, and loved family BBQ’s, birthday parties and holiday gatherings. Helen will be deeply missed by many.

The family would like to thank the Valley View Nursing Home staff, especially Glenmere Ground where she received loving care. She also loved being included in the many activities by the wonderful activities staff, and enjoyed getting her hair and nails done.

Survivors include her son Douglas Pollock and his wife Ellen of Lakewood Ranch, FL; a sister, Anna Barttels of the Town of Newburgh; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband, John J. Pollock, Jr. in 2007, and siblings, Frank, Joe and John Gregorec, Mary Lopez, and Betty Stafford.

A Graveside Service will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh, NY, with the Rev. Dr. Fontella Irons officiating.
