Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh will honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a day of service on Monday, January 15 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 pm. Various volunteer activities will include the painting of the Newburgh ReStore, the annual Love Your Block Community Project, weatherization and painting of 511 South Street, painting of 114 William Street, and the MLK Day of Service Kid’s Project.

A MLK Day of Service Luncheon will also be held from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Calvary Presbyterian Church located at 120 South Street in Newburgh. Reverend J. Edward Lewis will also serve as a guest speaker during the luncheon as he was active during MLK’s movement.

No prior construction experience is necessary and all tools and materials will be provided for the day of service. Appropriate construction site clothing and closed shoes are required when on-site. All volunteer activities are listed on our volunteer hub newburgh.volunteerhub.com.
