City police make weapons arrest

On Tuesday, Feb. 7 at approximately 1:15 p.m. City of Newburgh Police responded to the area of William Street and Benkard Avenue for a narcotics complaint. Police attempted to stop parolee Kadeem Knight, a 23-year old Newburgh resident. Knight engaged police in a brief foot pursuit before his apprehension.

As a result of this investigation, a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol and a significant amount of heroin and crack cocaine was recovered.

Knight was turned over to the FBI’s Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force and the United States Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
