Newburgh City Council approved a renewal agreement with Nearmap U.S., Inc., an aerial technology company, on Monday, November 27. The agreement would be for one year at the cost of $2,500.
The services provided through Nearmap are used by the codes department, the fire department, the city assessor’s office and the city planning and development department. The renewal agreement is budgeted and proposed with the 2024 City Budget. With the Nearmaps services, it allows access to more angles of imagery for properties in the city, and recorded imagery can be traced back over a decade. These services allow the viewer to see the changes to the property and so forth.
