The Charter Review Commission was established pursuant to Local Law No. A of 2026, adopted by the City Council on May 26, 2026, and is tasked with reviewing the entire City Charter and determine whether to prepare a draft of a proposed new or revised City Charter, propose revisions or amendments to specific chapters of the current City Charter, or propose no changes at all to the current City Charter.

The Commission’s initial organizational meeting will provide an opportunity for members to establish the Commission’s leadership, procedures, and regular meeting schedule.
