The Town of Newburgh Planning Board approved the revised scope for the project known as ‘Britain Woods’ during their regular meeting on Thursday, January 19. This adoption will now allow the applicant’s engineering firm, Engineering & Surveying Properties, PC, to move forward with a required Environmental Impact Study [EIS].

The Town of Newburgh Planning Board had previously hosted at the Local 17 Meeting Hall at 451 Little Britain Road back in December 2022 a public scoping session to collect public comments on the proposed development. The development was proposed at 442 Little Britain Road on a 48 acre parcel of land with a proposed 258 multi-family units. Comments from community members raised concerns about the traffic, light pollution and blasting prior to any further determinations.
