Barbara A. Smith, of the Town of Newburgh, entered into rest, surrounded by her family, Saturday, March 23, 2024. She was 66.

Daughter of Alberta (Stephenson) Quick and the late Willis Clifford Quick, Jr., she was born March 31, 1957 in Ellenville, NY.

A long time area resident, Barbara was a homemaker. She was a graduate of New Paltz High School. She loved cooking and caring for everyone, especially her family. She loved being around people and the more friends and family at the table for holidays the better. She enjoyed music and visiting the casino’s. She dearly loved her grand babies. She was fond of all animals, especially her cats. Barbara was an avid gardener, and loved to travel and enjoy NHRA races with her husband Bill.

Survivors include her mother, Alberta Quick of Poughkeepsie; her beloved husband of 45 years, William “Bill” Smith of the Town of Newburgh; a son Jacob Smith of Middletown; a daughter, Jennifer Smith and her partner Craig Leland of Ellenville; three brothers, Dale Quick and his wife Carol of Gardnier, and Gerald Quick and his partner Lori Acree of Gardiner, NY and Richard Sonneborn, Sr. and his wife Karen of Mastic Beach, NY; two sisters, Vicki Jones and her husband Jerry of TN and Anna Cooper of Rosedale, NY; two grandchildren, Taylor Smith and her partner Gary Hornbeck and Rolf Leland; two great grandchildren, Kamryn Hornbeck and Peyton Hornbeck; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father she was predeceased by a son, Justin, A. Smith in 2019 and a sister, Norma Depuy in 2009.

Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 4 to 7 pm at White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 N. Plank Road, Newburgh.

A Funeral Service will commence at the Funeral Home Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 11 am with Chaplain Edward Madson officiating. Burial will follow at Friend’s Cemetery, Wallkill,.
