The Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association (OCIAA) Scholar-Athlete Award is presented to graduating high school seniors who distinguish themselves in both the classroom and the athletic arena. Each participating high school nominates one male and one female senior to receive the prestigious honor each year. The 2026 honorees were honored on Thursday, June 4 at the annual OCIAA Awards Breakfast; attending with them were their parents and school officials.

From O’Neill, the athletes recognized were Charlene (CJ) Conkey, a multisport athlete who received an appointment to West Point, and will study organizational psychology; and Samuel Kloepper, a track and field athlete and the valedictorian of the Class of 2026 who will attend Dartmouth College on an Army ROTC scholarship to major in government.

From Cornwall, the athletes were Marisa Barnsby, valedictorian of the Class of 2026 and a member of the cross country and indoor and outdoor track teams, heading to Duke University in the fall; and Slav Mishkovski, salutatorian of the class and member of the soccer and lacrosse teams. He is heading to Georgia Tech in the fall.
