Richard “Dicky” W. Hall passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026. He was 77 years old. Son of the late George “Tipper” and Ruth (Lewis) Hall, he was born on May 17, 1949, in Cornwall, NY.
Dicky proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, displaying remarkable courage and commitment to his country during a challenging time. After receiving an honorable discharge, he found his true calling as the Equipment Manager for Army Athletics in West Point, NY. Army Football became a central part of his life, and his dedication was recognized when he was named an Honorary Member of the Army Football Club.
In addition to his involvement with Army football, Dicky was a dedicated player and later an umpire for the Highland Falls and West Point men’s softball leagues. He was also an active member of the Orange County Basketball Referee Association. Furthermore, he was a devoted supporter of James I. O’Neill Athletics, attending numerous events and cheering on local teams. As a loving Papa, he cherished his time with his grandchildren, sharing his passion for sports and instilling in them the values of hard work, dedication, and the importance of giving back. His life's work revolved around service, community, athletics, and a profound love for his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Ken Hall and his wife, Nichole, of Highland Falls, NY; and Kelly Hall and her partner, Tim Green, also of Highland Falls, NY; brother, Michael Hall and his wife, Kris, of Oneonta, NY; mother-in-law, Jane Hendrickson; and beloved grandchildren, Hailey and Owen.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his devoted wife, Barbara “Susie” Hall.
Visitation were held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Highland Falls, NY. A Graveside Service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Peacedale Cemetery.
