Since 2014, Mohonk Preserve community science volunteers have collected data on the timing of seasonal changes in select plants and animals. This data is submitted to the National Phenology Network, one of the nation's longest-running phenology data platforms, which allows researchers and the public alike to access phenology data to better understand changes taking place in the environment.
Join conservation science staff and community science volunteers on a morning walk where we will review how to use Nature's Notebook, and log observations of plants and animals along the community science phenology trail. Downloading the Nature's Notebook app ahead of time is highly encouraged.
Space is limited, and registration is required. Registration includes access to the Preserve for this program. Registration closes at 12 pm on Thursday, October 15.
