Georgene Zlock, a longtime resident of Mountainville, New York, was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. She graduated from Berkeley Secretarial School and, in her younger years, served as a Sunday school teacher and Girl Scout troop leader.
In 1974, Georgene became Executive Assistant to H. Peter Stern at Star Expansion Company. She later continued as his assistant at Storm King Art Center and subsequently served as the Art Center’s Administrator until her retirement in 2010. During her distinguished career, she helped establish Storm King’s first membership program, developed close relationships with its board members and artists, and managed events from their inception.
Georgene is survived by her daughter, Colleen Zlock; her partner, Joshua Wilkin; her granddaughter, Avalyn Sartori; and her chosen family: daughter Nicole Cronin; grandchildren Nicholas Davis, Ashley Cronin, Angie Cronin, and Ryan Cronin; and great-grandchildren Jackson, Griffin, and Jojo. She is also survived by her cousins Irene and Charles Yates and their children,, Debra, Ashley, and Amy.
She was predeceased by her parents, Edward C. Doney and Katherine (Korff) Doney; her sister, Doreen Capriglione; and her chosen daughter, Briana Davis.
Georgene will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, loyalty, and devotion to those she loved. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Walden.
Visitation were held Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. A Graveside Service took place Wednesday, September 16 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mountainville, NY.
