William Henry Jablesnik of Wallkill, passed away Tuesday February 8, 2022.  He was 78.

The son of William Lawrence Jablesnik and Edith Mae Hill Jablesnik, he was born August 12, 1943 in Yonkers, NY.

William was a parishioner of Most Precious Blood Church, Walden.

Affectionately known by many as “Dr.J” and “Uncle Bill”, he was an avid deep sea fisherman, who looked forward to his annual trips with his wife, Carol.  After designing and building their dream home, they moved their young family upstate in the late 1980s. He was instrumental within the Wallkill community in building up the Area Little League program, coaching his daughter’s softball teams, and resurrecting Boy Scout Troop 76 in the Hamlet.

He was an Eagle Scout himself, the sole-surviving son who had lost his own father at sixteen years of age, thus prohibiting him from serving in the military despite his patriotic attempts to enlist and fight in the Vietnam War.

A hard worker all his life, he was a child/teen model featured in Sears catalogues, and spent most of his career as an insurance claims property adjuster for Allstate, where he left an indelible presence on his coworkers and customers, often going to great lengths to restore damaged keepsakes for victims of life-altering catastrophes.

Survivors include his wife Carol ; sons William Lawrence Jablesnik and his wife, Siobhan Jablesnik and David Christian Jablesnik and his fiancée, Chrissy Knapik; daughter Daneil Leigh Fischer and her husband James W Fischer

grandchildren Joseph Riley Scotto, Alexia Jablesnik, Logan Fischer, Lochlyn Jablesnik, Peyton Fischer, William Henry Jablesnik, Christian Jablesnik, Lola Jablesnik, Trystan Jablesnik, Isla Jablesnik, and James William Fischer
