SRP Book Cover Challenge

Pick a book, any book, and recreate its cover on a 5x7 canvas. Pick up your canvas at the library from July 15-29. One canvas per person, register online to reserve yours today! All work must be in by Saturday, August 1st, 2 PM. Canvases will be on exhibit at the library beginning Tuesday, August 4.

Smash Journal Weekly Meet

Smash Journal Weekly Meet is a creative and social outlet on Zoom for tweens and teens. Log in each week, Ms. Christine will guide you thru the weekly theme, let you show off what you've completed, and give prompts for more drawing, doodling, Zentangling, smashing, journaling and page design. Participants will receive a SJWM kit that includes: 1 blank spiral bound journal, 6 sealed secret envelopes marked with the week # and instructions, a Wallkill Public Library pencil, tape, glue stick, stickers, a date stamper, Zoom ID, password and more! Registration required. *Programs with a waiting list will give priority to Wallkill Public Library patrons

For 24 years Faith Living Church has hosted a free kid’s event called Vacation Bible Adventure. This year the message is the same but the method is totally different. We’ll be hosting our very first “Virtual Vacation Bible Adventure” Our goal this year is to reach even further and even wider.

Cornwall Public Library: Motown Records and Barry Gordy

Event Date: July 14, 2020 Event Time: 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm Join Bergen Community College Lecturer Rick Feingold for a virtual lecture on the history of Motown Records. Berry Gordy wrote the Jackie Wilson hit Lonely Teardrops but barely made any money. So he started his own record company named Motown. The label played an important role in the racial integration of popular music achieving crossover success. Motown would launch the careers of Diana Ross & the Supremes, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson Five. Presentation includes classic video of the early years of Motown music. Kitchen Academy - STEM at Home

Music in the Grove Summer Concert Series with The Bunker Boys

FELTING for KIDS: Give Peace a Chance

If you haven't tried FELTING this is the perfect beginner project for kids, teens or even adults! Learn the basics of this fiber art with simple instruction from Ms. Christine. Follow along with the Give Peace a Chance theme or any other design you put your mind to. Children must be at least 8 years old to participate as there is a very sharp, barbed needle to work with.
